Yin Yoga developed by Victor Chng, is a principled approach to cultivate yin-yang balance in the body. It is a carefully crafted system based on Chinese Medicine, Meridian Theory, and ancient energy movement practice in China such as Qigong and Taiji. There are three principles to the practice known as Grounding, Holding, and Relaxation. They work to cultivate strong Yin Functions in the body which are Digestion, Detoxification, and Sleep.

The Three Yin Principles sets the direction of the practice and how each pose should be taken. It is a "checking device" to direct oneself into the practice with confidence. By understanding the principles, you will know whether you have been doing the poses correctly. You will become your own teacher.

The three functions are the results of the practice. A good practice will be reflected in the body and gain good experiences. Therefore, it is important to know if you are moving in the right direction that further boosts your motivation. Yin Yoga should help you in Digestion, Detoxification, and Sleep.
